More of Audrey's Birthday

Iain bought some Dora party hats for the kids, but Audrey refused to wear hers. I'm not sure why, because she loves hats and she loves Dora, but apparently this particular combination was no good.

Bless You!

Today, Grandma, Avery, Audrey and I were in the living room and I sneezed. Without missing a beat, Audrey said "bless you" ... it was so cute, and then she realized we were laughing, so she kept saying it. I wish we had captured it on video!

Happy Birthday Audrey!

Yesterday was Audrey's 2nd birthday. She helped me make chocolate cupcakes for her party before church, and after church, we had a little party for her at the park with Avery (of course), Cozy, Hallie, Elisa, Justus, and then all the adults that go with those kids (plus Juanita, Mark, Auntie Bay, Frank, and Grandma, Iain and I).

She had a great time running around, and when she spied the cupcakes on the picnic table, she said "this". So we gathered everyone around and started singing Happy Birthday. She had been totally happy until that time, but when we started singing, I don't know what happened ... I think we just scared her a bit, that everyone was singing and she was the center of attention but she didn't know why ... so she started crying. She kept crying and wouldn't blow out her candles, so her friends and I helped her. But after that was over, the singing stopped, and people dispersed, she was happy again. =)

We came home, had dinner, and she was hilarious ... we had some honey on the table for biscuits, and she wanted to put it on her green beans. So she tipped the bottle over on every green bean, and even though no honey actually came OUT on any of the beans, she thought she was getting some, and she asked for TWO extra helpings of green beans. It was so cute.

Anyway, I cannot believe that she is two years old. She is, by far, the cutest, smartest, funniest, most beautiful two year old that I know! For those who weren't here to celebrate with us, here are some videos so that you can come to this same conclusion yourselves. =)

New Orleans and New York

We had a great time on our trip last week to visit Brantley, Becki & Tucker in New Orleans. We can't WAIT for the arrival of what is bound to be the cutest niece in the whole world! My mom met us there, and we had a really fun week together. We went to our first-ever Mardi Gras parades and Audrey kept saying "beads, beads". We also took a quick trip to NYC for a last-minute business trip for Allison. We had great weather (most days) and our hotel was only about 5 store-fronts down from the giant Toys 'R Us ... Audrey loved the big dinosaur, the ferris wheel (we sat in the "tato" ... Mr. Potato Head car), the train layout, and Barbie's house (even today, she was walking around saying "Bobbie's"). We think Avery will be crawling soon ... she's almost in the right position and is trying to reach out for everything. As usual, we are amazed by and in love with these girls!

Iain and Avery Helping Audrey Brush her Teeth

Iain was helping Audrey get her teeth brushed, when I heard him say, "can you please come help us?". Avery was grabbing Audrey's hair, grabbing the toothbrush, trying to touch anything she could. It was so funny, so I had to grab the camera!

The Library & Chuck E. Cheese's

Pix from Audrey & Avery's fieldtrip yesterday to the library and today to Chuck E. Cheese's. Audrey was very excited by all of the tickets that she found to buy a prize. And Avery is just excited by everything!

Audrey Praying

At the Zoo

Here are the girls at the zoo today. You can see that Avery was quite enjoying her lunch! And the car that Audrey was sitting in ... when we told her this morning that she was going to the zoo, she said "car" ... yep, that's the thing she remembers most about the zoo. Not the tigers. Not the bears. The mechanical car. But at least she also said "monkey" ... as in there is a monkey riding next to her in the car. =)

Random Pix

I know I've been quite delinquent in posting pix here the last weeks. My only excuse is that I've been busy. Here are a few of my favorites.
