Modern Technology

So we watch very little TV in our house, and even less "live" TV. About 99% of the things the girls watch are either DVR'd or from a DVD. A few months ago when they were watching a live TV show, Audrey told me "I don't like commercials" (hmmm, me either) and now when one of their DVR shows goes to commercial, I know it immediately, because they start saying in chorus "uh-oh, uh-oh" and pointing at the TV, waiting for me to fast forward to the next part of the show.

Anyway, tonight, I was playing with Audrey and her little dollhouse. The house has a garage that opens. She said "I don't know why this house has a garage that we push open." I told her it was so the people who live there could park their car inside, just like we do. She said "no, I mean, where is their remote control?" Really, the girl has no idea that it's possible to open a garage door without a remote. So cute!

She'll also probably be embarassed by this later (so Audrey, I'm sorry in advance), but since I am an even worse journal-er than I am a blogger, I won't document this unless I put it here ... last week, she was sitting on the potty and I heard a little sound. She said "that was just some gasoline from my bottom." I had to stifle my laughter, and it was so cute, that I didn't correct her. But she said it again tonight (again, hilarious!), so I decided to tell her that it's just "gas" from our bottom and it's "gasoline" for our car.

Avery has learned so many new words! She now says "peeze" if she wants something, and it's hard not to give it to her with her cute pronunciation and beautiful smile! She also loves to sing (almost all songs are to the tune of Twinkle twinkle), but she'll sing any word to that tune (Elmo and Mim being her favorite two). Actually, Elmo is her favorite answer to any question these days ... Avery, what do you want for breakfast? ELMO! Avery, did you sleep okay? ELMO! Avery, do you want to go to the park? ELMO!

We LOVE these girls. Can someone please slow time down for us???
